Maymester: Spend 4 weeks at the Italian Campus

Beginning in May 2013, Duquesne University undergraduates can spend four weeks in Rome, at Duquesne's Italian Campus.  This new program will give students the opportunity to study in one of the world's greatest cities with sellar Rome-based faculty and an on-site Director and Resident Assistants creating a safe and beautiful campus environment.  May is a beautiful month in Rome, With the Rome weather is not yet too hot and the life in the piazzas is in full swingm, May is a great time to study in Rome.

Academics
Academics: During this four weeks program, students will take two courses and earn six credits:

THEO 280: Faith and Reason (Satisfies CORE Theme Area: Faith and Reason)

Christianity has always portrayed faith and reason as being compatible.  Our course will consider faith and reason across a number of interesting historical periods:  early Christian times and the time of Constantine, the Renaissance and Reformation periods, and modern times.  All of these historical times are visible to us while in Rome, and we will use the city and its rich history to enliven our intellectual journey.

ARHY 385 Baroque Art in Rome (Satisfies CORE Theme Area: Creative Arts)

Study 17th centry Rome: Bernini, Borromini, Caravaggio and others. Class is held on-site at St Peter's, the Borghese Gallery and in the many beautiful piazzas and churches of Rome.
