Campus Services

Student Life

Duquesne’s student population of 9,985 includes 4,050 graduate students. If you choose to, you can be directly involved in exciting research, work with faculty on presentations and conference papers, or work as one of our 450 graduate teaching assistants.

Get Involved

Living on campus or off, our graduate students are involved in student organizations, community service, and professional organizations.

The Graduate Professional Student Council fosters a sense of community among the students and serves as their advocate in University affairs. Many departments also have graduate student organizations.

Housing Opportunities

Graduate students can live on-campus on special floors in the residence halls for graduate and law students. Here are the room and board rates.

Many graduate students live off campus in nearby apartments houses or in one of Pittsburgh's many interesting neighborhoods. You will find that housing costs in Pittsburgh are quite reasonable.

The Office of Commuter Affairs maintains lists of off-campus housing.

Parking

Unlike many urban universities, Duquesne has adequate on-campus parking.

  • Students can purchase a permit by the semester or by the year.
  • Those attending primarily at night can purchase an evening permit.
  • If you only drive occasionally, you can park in the Forbes Avenue garage for a flat daily rate. (Must show student ID.)
