Double Major: History and Art History (55 credits total)
Major in History with second major in Art History*
1.) Student must meet all current History requirements, 31 credits, for the major.
2.) The student will take the following 24 credit hours in Art History:
a.) Required Survey Courses (6 credits):
- ARHY 111: Art History: Ancient to Medieval
- ARHY 112: Art History: Renaissance to Modern
b.) Electives, fulfilling the following areas (18 credits):
- 3 credits at 100-level or above
- 9 credits at 200-level and above (3 credits must be in pre-1800 European Art)
- 3 credits at 300-level
- 3 credits at 400W-level
*NOTE: As the student is taking a second major in Art History, and the credits have been adjusted accordingly, the regular History major proviso that 3 credits of Art History count toward the History major does not apply.
Major in Art History with second major in History*
1.) Student must meet all current Art History requirements, 31 credits, for the major.
2.) The student will take the following 24 credit hours in History:
a.) Required Survey Courses (6 credits):
(Must include 203 and/or 213)
- HIST 203: U.S. History to 1877
- HIST 204: U.S. History since 1877
- HIST 213: Western Civilization I
- HIST 214: Western Civilization II
b.) Electives, fulfilling the following areas (18 credits):
- 6 credits of African, Asian, Latin American, or Middle Eastern Courses (at least 3 credits above the 100-level)
- 6 credits at the 200-level or above
- 3 credits at the 300-level
- 3 credits at the 400W-level
*NOTE: As the student is taking a second major in History and taking HIST 311W as ARHY 311W, the regular Art History major proviso that 3 elective credits in History count towards the Art History major does not apply.
