Minors or Education Cognate Areas

The Department offers a 12 credit minor and a 15 credit cognate area in Classical Civilization with concentrations in Graeco-Roman Civilization or Ancient History or Ancient Archaeology or Ancient Art and Literature; a minor in the Latin language; and a minor in the Greek language.  Courses taken at the 200 or 300 level meet the College language requirement as well.

Students may enroll in the program after consultation with both their major advisor and with the Chairman of the Department of Classics.

Greek or Latin Language and Literature: 

  • Introduction to Greek or Latin (6-8 credits) 
  • Two courses in Greek or Latin at the 200 or 300 level (6 credits)
