Many individuals have extremely busy schedules, requiring that they keep calendars indicating when their various appointments are, with whom they are meeting, and what their list of tasks for the day is.
Anyone who maintains a calendar can use MeetingMaker. MeetingMaker is a program that helps you manage the kind of calendar information that you might currently keep in a paper calendar or electronic device. The big advantage of MeetingMaker over a paper calendar is that MeetingMaker lets you coordinate your calendar with those of other people, so that you can easily find times and places to meet, share information about your schedule, and view information that others have chosen to share. It is particularly useful for people whose schedules must be coordinated with or managed by other people, as well as people who manage scheduled facilities such as meeting rooms or projectors.
It is most effective when entire groups all use it, such as all the members of a particular office or team. The more complex and interdependent your schedules, the more you stand to gain by using MeetingMaker. During its testing phase, MeetingMaker was used by CTS, the president's office, the provost's office, and the offices of several vice-presidents and deans. Some additional departments that have begun using MeetingMaker since this period include Admissions, the Law School, University Relations, and SLPA.
MeetingMaker can work with or replace your current calendaring system. You can access MeetingMaker from any computer with an Internet connection, keep it with you on your Palm Pilot or notebook computer, or print out calendars that fit in your paper calendar (such as DayTimers, etc). You can keep your information private, or you may choose to share as little or as much information as you like.
MeetingMaker can also be used to manage schedules for locations (such as meeting rooms) and resources (such as projectors).
