Starting in the Spring of 2010, all printing in public computer labs will operate under a quota system. Each student will be able to print 1000 pages per semester at no cost. There are multiple benefits associated with managing the printing on campus under a quota system. The primary reason for instituting a quota system is to sustain equitable 'practically free' printing campus wide. In addition to sustaining equitable printing at practically no user cost, the management system will reduce the near 68% of wasted print jobs that are left on printers unclaimed. The print management system allows CTS to expand the printing service to include student wireless laptops through cost savings.
