About the Conference
In a recent speech announcing the creation of a White House cyber-security office, President Obama spoke of “the great irony of our Information Age” – the fact that “the very technologies that empower us to create and to build also empower those who would disrupt and destroy.”
But while the Obama Administration’s new initiative will employ all the tools at the federal government’s disposal to fend off the sorts of large-scale attacks that can cripple economies and compromise national security, law enforcement officers and attorneys nationwide – along with the public they serve – must grapple daily with those who would use personal computers, cell phones and other digital devices to do everything from perpetrate Ponzi schemes to lure children into harm’s way.
This timely event, the Wecht Institute’s 9th Annual Conference, will impart a more current and comprehensive knowledge of both the crime-fighting challenges and the investigative and legal opportunities presented by the proliferation of digital technology in the 21st century.
