Extensive HeinOnline Content Additions

The following content update information is from HeinOnline. We encourage you to access Hein's online legal periodical collection, which is available free to Duquesne School of Law students and faculty, through the Center for Legal Information's web site.

January's content release contained updates to 17 different HeinOnline collections. More than 500,000 additional pages of material were added, inching us closer to the 50-million page milestone, which we hope to reach in 2009!

January's content release includes the following NEW content:

  • 13 titles added to the Law Journal Library
  • 11 titles added to the Legal Classics Library
  • 91 titles added to the World Trials Library

Congratulations ABA Mock Arbitration Team!

Congratulations to the ABA Mock Arbitration team for an outstanding showing at the national competition in San Antonio, January 24-25. Team members Nicole Hall, Orla Powderly, Joseph Valenti and Krystal Wascher were coached by Sarah Andrews L'06 and Christopher Borsani L'07. Faculty Advisor is Professor Al Peláez. The team would like to thank Fulton Miklos L'87, Jacques Woods, Judge Jeffrey A. Deller L'96, and Matt Rippin for their assistance in preparing for the competition.

Getlegal.com offers one of the most useful and reliable collections of online legal resources. The site is divided into three main categories, "Public", "Professional", and "Find an Attorney". The "Public" section provides general descriptive information on areas and topics of law. Featured content includes articles, legal tips, forms, and a legal dictionary. The "Professional" section includes information about law practice management, law firm marketing, and a legal research center. The "Find an Attorney" section is a legal directory that allows the user to browse by practice area. Getlegal also offers its Spanish-language resources at Fuentelegal. In addition, Getlegal is partnered with Cornell Law School to expand and improve its legal information and research content.
