Bar Buddies Mentorship Program for Graduating Students
In 2012, your Bar Services Department, in partnership with the Young Lawyers Division (YLD) of the Allegheny County Bar Association, created the Bar Buddies Mentorship Program (Program). The Program pairs graduating students who are preparing to sit for the bar exam with a young attorney mentor from the YLD. The Program's goal is to provide you with support and encouragement as you study for the bar examination.
For the past two years, the Program has proven to be a resounding success. We successfully matched dozens of students with young attorney mentors. The response from our students, as well as the young attorneys, has been overwhelmingly positive. This year we are planning to launch the Program as a joint event in conjunction with Student Organizations, which is hosting guest lecturer, Nicholas J. DeIuliis, Esq., The President of CONSOL Energy from
4:30 - 5:30 p.m. Mr. DeIuliis' lecture will be followed by a Bar Buddies "kick off" cocktail reception on Tuesday, April 22th from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM in the Student Lounge. My administrative assistant, Susan DePasquale, my Research Assistant, JD Mazzocco, and the Law School's YLD Liaison, Bethany Williard are helping me to coordinate the Program with Attorney Michaelene E. Weimer at the YLD.
If you are interested in being matched with a Bar Buddy, please RSVP via email to Susan DePasquale at email@example.com by Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Even if you are not ready to commit to participate in the Program, you are invited to attend this exciting, fun networking event.
An online RSVP for the lecture and/or reception can be found here: http://www.duq.edu/academics/schools/law/events/reception-for-nicholas-deiuliis-esq-and-the-acba-bar-buddies-april-22

Please Maintain Quiet in the Center
DCLI strives to maintain a quiet place to study. The Center requests the cooperation of all students and faculty in adhering to our quiet study rule, especially during the upcoming Exams Period. This includes refraining from loud talking, cell phone use, or any other loud behavior. Please respect your fellow student's desire for quiet study space. Study rooms are available for groups that need to collaborate. Otherwise, please save any conversations for outside of the Center. This policy pertains to all areas of the Center, including all three floors of the library and the Service Center desk. We are confident, with everybody's cooperation, that we will successfully provide a quiet place to study.
