New Uniform Act for Authenticating State Documents Online

The Uniform Law Commission has passed the Uniform Electronic Legal Citation Act to provide a notice of authenticity on all documents published by the state government. The Government Printing Office has started such an authentication mark on the top of all of its published documents. Hopefully, with the passage of this act, we can begin to request Pennsylvania departments and agencies to comply with this act and authenticate their documents. Vincent DeLiberato, Jr., a member of the PA Legislative Reference Bureau, was one of the authors of this law.

An impressive number of Duquesne Law graduates are judges on the local, state and federal levels, including the highest courts, intermediate appellate courts and trial courts in more than 20 states. Among all law schools in Pennsylvania, Duquesne has produced a significant number of judges seated on the Superior Court, Commonwealth Court and Courts of Common Pleas. Duquesne Law alumni have also served as judges of the United States Court of Appeals and the Federal District Courts. A permanent display is being created in the Law School honoring those alumni who have and are serving on the bench.
