National Conference of Metropolitan Courts holds annual meeting at Duquesne Oct. 9
The Cyril H. Wecht Institute of Forensic Science and Law and Duquesne University School of Law will host educational sessions of the National Conference of Metropolitan Courts' annual meeting on Tues., Oct. 9 in the University's Power Center Ballroom.
Featured speakers at the conviction integrity sessions include:
- Professor John Rago of the Duquesne University School of Law
- Honorable William Carpenter, administrative judge of the Montgomery County Criminal Division
- Bruce Godschalk, a Pennsylvania exonoree
- Professor Jennifer Dysart of the Department of Psychology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice
- Honorable Stewart J. Greenleaf, chairman of the Pennsylvania State Senate's Judiciary Committee

Duquesne Law School Hosting Director of Judicial School of Costa Rica
The Duquesne University School of Law will host Dr. Marvin Carvajal, director of the Judicial School of Costa Rica and a professor of law at the University of Costa Rica, as a visiting international professor from Monday, Oct. 8, to Tuesday, Oct 16.

The site also serves as a directory with the “Find the best Lawyer” resource, allowing the user to choose lawyer name OR practice area as search terms, as well as refining the search by location. Attorney profiles include disciplinary history, experience, peer endorsements, and client reviews. The site provides the option to “Browse lawyers by Practice Area”. Simply pick the practice area, for instance Estate Planning, and the site will list all top lawyers in your area, even displaying a map on the left side of the site to illustrate the attorney’s location. Avvo is an excellent source for pinpointing expert legal assistance.
