Study Carrells and Public Address System Installed

DCLI has installed 48 new study carrells and chairs on the First and Ground Floors of the library. The carrells are noticeably larger and brighter, and come equipped with electrical outlets and individual lighting.

Also, the Center has completed its installation of the public address system in all the student areas of the library- including study rooms and student organizational rooms. This security enhancement will allow staff to notify all library users in the event of an emergency situation. With the winter season approaching, the library will also ultize the service to announce closings due to inclement weather.

The Center thanks you for your patience as we make these permenant improvements.






Take a Break from Studying and Play Chess


The Center for Legal Information has just purchased two new chessboards for student use! One is located in the student lounge of the ground floor and. The other is available for checkout at the Circulation Desk. The game pieces must be checked-out as well at the Circulation Desk.


Key Numbers…Now Easily Accessible on Westlaw!

Do you love searching for cases using West Key Numbers? Well, starting on November 10 life is about to get easier for you--introducing the new Key Numbers link on Westlaw! Using the new link, you can search for Key Numbers with your terms in your selected jurisdictions (up to three at one time, or a combined multibase). Westlaw will return the top five most relevant Key Numbers, sorted by jurisdiction for easy browsing. Click on the Key Number of your choice, and you retrieve a Custom Digest result.

Washlaw is a free, comprehensive, legal research web resource developed by Washburn University School of Law. Washlaw strives to post all known online legal-related links.
Highlights of this useful resource include the following:

The site’s homepage lists legal topics alphabetically by subject and geographic area, including numerous international links. The directories page links to over 50 online legal directories from law schools, law firms, and other legal related sites. The federal law and government documents page “provides access to all known federal law in the United States as well as law-related government document resources. It is arranged by subject and agency.” Similarly, the site maintains an extensive listing of state legal resources. There is also a page devoted to foreign, international, and United Nations legal resources. These links feature primary and secondary resources for numerous countries. A page devoted to law firm links is available, including regional, national, and international offices. The “law jobs” page not only lists employment resources, but also important professional development resources pertaining to continuing legal education, legal seminars, and bar preparation.
