Welcome Letter from Professor Frank Y. Liu, Director of The Center for Legal information

Dear First-Year Law Student,

Welcome to the Duquesne University School of Law, Center for Legal Information (DCLI). DCLI's commitment to supporting your legal education includes the following capacities:

A Gateway to Legal Information

DCLI is your one-stop location for all legal information needs. You can access our digital resources from anywhere in the world, including via use of mobile phones. Our web site is: http://www.duq.edu/academics/schools/law/law-library. It provides comprehensive and exhaustive legal information resources and links including our own School of Law Catalog (SOCAT). A weekly E-newsletter: DuqLawWire is sent to your personal email address to keep you informed of the latest development of legal information at DCLI and around the world.

A Personal Law Library for Legal Research

DCLI will serve as your personal law library throughout the next three or four years of your law school career. After the first year, every student will be assigned a Personal Law Librarian (PLL) who will keep in touch with you on a regular basis to ensure that all your legal information needs are met satisfactorily. Our outstanding and experienced law librarian faculty members are ready and willing to help you in your academic pursuits whenever necessary.

A Frontier for Technology

The Center offers the most advanced hardware and software for digital access to legal information. Our facilities include wireless computing, electrical connections at every seat in the Center, and outstanding information technology professionals providing excellent support.

A Quiet Place for Study

The Center is a beautifully updated facility offering a quiet environment for studying law students. We request 1L students help maintain this pleasant learning atmosphere by refraining from making any unnecessary noise and respecting fellow student's quiet-space.

We take the Mission of Duquesne University "Serving God by Serving Students", seriously. We are here to serve you with love and care. Let us know whatever you need. We look forward to seeing you!

With best wishes,
