International Programs

Getting Your Program Approved: The ABCs

During the Fall Semester, prepare a formal, 3-Part Proposal:

A – Academics: The academic involve the actual course and the course content.  You need the approval of your department chair and your dean. (Note:Your dean’s signature indicates both academic approval and willingness to cover any possible budget shortfall.)

B - Budget: You must follow university guidelines and policies and determine the exact pricing of your study trip for your students.

C - Concerns and Safety: Have you chosen a destination that is safe? Are you prepared to deal with the responsibility of having students in a foreign country?

Next Steps

  1. Complete the proposal
  2. Have it signed by your department chair and dean,
  3. Submit it to the OIP at least one week prior to the committee review date that you wish the committee to review it. Committee Review Dates

The committee is made up of faculty from across the campus and will meet twice during the fall semester. You will be invited to come to the committee meeting to discuss your program and to answer any questions that the committee may have.
