Program Mentor Information
As an Art History major, you are assigned a member of the faculty to serve as your program mentor. The faculty mentor will oversee your major and will be available to discuss academic goals, the nature of the discipline, post-graduation plans (graduate school, internships, employment opportunities, etc.), or whatever else you may need to talk about. The mentor should be viewed as the best source of information about your course of study.
Art History majors are required to see their mentors during registration to review their major program. Thus, your registration for Art History courses will not be complete until your mentor approves your major program. Please note that under the self-service DORI system, the College advisors check to see if a student has submitted the approval form; if not, the registration can be put on hold.
Academic advisors in the College Office will review their students' entire academic programs to insure that those students meet all the University and College requirements. However, students should be aware that they bear the primary responsibility for making sure that all requirements for graduation are met.
