Elevator Procedures

Elevator Emergency or Entrapment

There are panels inside the elevator cab for emergency use. Push the emergency button that is inside the elevator (the button is either exposed or in a panel depending on the elevator set up). After pushing the button you will hear a recording that indicates to Public Safety what elevator and building you are in.

After the recording is finished, you will be able to speak directly to Public Safety through the elevator speaker. Public Safety will then dispatch the appropriate team to assist.

If for some reason the speaker in the elevator is out of-order, call Public Safety at 412.396.2677 (cops).

Non-emergency Elevator Problem

Call the Facilities Management Department at 412.396.6011 between the hours of 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and the front desk will report the problem to maintenance.

Non-emergency Problems After Hours

When there is a non-emergency elevator problem between the hours of 4:30 p.m. and 7 a.m. you will need to call Public Safety at 412.396.6002 to report the problem with the elevator.
