Research Interests

My scholarship is framed by my interest in better understanding and promoting the notion of teaching as a process of critical inquiry capable of fulfilling the democratic mission of schooling. Using narrative inquiry and collaborative self-study as teaching and research tools, I strive to improve the quality of both teacher preparation and k-12 social studies education by studying and refining my own professional practice as a teacher educator, engaging in collaborative inquiry with other teacher educators, and modeling reflective practice for pre-service teachers.
