Scientific Evidence and the Right to Confrontation
Three years after Melendez-Diaz v. Massachusetts, the historic U.S. Supreme Court ruling in which the Court held that it was a violation of the Sixth Amendment right of confrontation for a prosecutor to submit a chemical drug test report without the testimony of the person who performed the test, the Institute will take a fresh look at the procedural and substantive issues at the heart of the matter. Join James Kane Record, an attorney and professor of criminal justice at California University of Pennsylvania; Jane Campbell Moriarty, a professor of law at Duquesne University; and other experts for this seminar.
