Phi Kappa ThetaChapter Biography

Phi Kappa Theta is a national fraternity founded at Brown and Lehigh Universities. It is the only living example of a true merger of two fraternities in history - Phi Kappa founded at Brown University on April 29, 1889 and Theta Kappa Phi founded at Lehigh University on October 1, 1919. The two were the leading Catholic fraternities in the country when they merged April 29, 1959.

"Phi Kaps" dedicate themselves to four ideals: Fraternal, Intellectual, Social and Spiritual. Since 1889, Phi Kappa Theta has grown to 50 chapters and colonies across the country (including three chapters in Pittsburgh), more than 1,500 men actively involved in its undergraduate chapters, and over 50,000 alumni brothers worldwide. The fraternity has planted its flag of cardinal purple, white and gold on 115 campuses over the last 110 years.

As a brother of Phi Kappa Theta, you will be joining a closely-knit family that seeks to provide each brother with varied experiences that promote respect, cooperation, loyalty, knowledge, responsibility and individualism.
