Medical & Nursing Services

The Health Service provides:
  • Evaluation and treatment of illness and injury
  • Allergy injections administered when ordered by personal physician. Students provide serum and instructions. Nominal fee per semester.
  • Health counseling and referrals to medical, social and welfare agencies
  • Routine screening physicals
  • Routine gynecological care including pap smear; laboratory fees apply.
  • Nutritional consultations

Prescription Information

  • Starter doses provided at minimum cost.
  • Full prescriptions may be delivered for a nominal fee or picked up at a local pharmacy.

  • Walk-ins are seen at the first opening in the schedule.

After Hours and Emergency

For after-hours care, resident students should call the front desk of their Living Learning Center for assistance. All students can also call UPMC at 412.692.5325, identify themselves as a Duquesne student, and ask for the Adolescent Medicine physician on call.
