  1. Tuition rates vary depending on whether you're going to attend Duquesne University as an undergraduate or graduate student, as well what school within the University you will be attending.  For more detailed information about tuition, visit the University's tuition page.
  2. History students find jobs with a variety of employers after graduation.  Some become teachers (especially if they double-majored in Education), others go into government service, and some opt to go to graduate school (generally in History or Law) afterwards.  For more information about how you can put your history degree to work--literally--feel free to print out our "What Can I Do With This Degree?" handout.  You can also visit The American Historical Association's website for more information. And, of course, the Career Services office is also here to help!
  3. Students at Duquesne University always have fun things to do on campus. Visit the University's Student Life website to learn more about how you can make the most out of your time with us!
  4. Duquesne believes that volunteering is an integral part of the college experience.  The Duquesne University Volunteers (DUV) provides a wealth of resources for students who wish to volunteer and give back to the community.  Undergraduate internship opportunities may be found through Career Services.  Graduate internship opportunities may be discussed with the chair of the Department.
  5. Being sick while away from home can be scary.  Student Health Services can help ease your worries and provide care to you while you're ill.
  6. If you're a student in the McAnulty College of Liberal Arts, you can call 412.396.6389 and speak with an administrative assistant to find out who your academic advisor is.
  7. As a History major, you'll be assigned a departmental mentor.  You can find out who your mentor is by emailing Laura E. Miller, Administrative Assistant.
  8. Adjusting to life after college can be hard.  But there are people who can help.  Before you graduate, It might be helpful to talk to someone at the University Counseling Center.  Licensed counselors and psychologists can help you begin to navigate the path you'll take after you graduate.
  9. At Duquesne, The University Writing Center can help you improve not only your resume, but your papers as well.
  10. Duquesne may not be the first university you've attended.  If you have credits from another institution, and you'd like to see if those credits will transfer over to your program at Duquesne, contact your Academic Advisor.
  11. If you're applying for an undergraduate program, see the Admissions Office's requirements for application materials.  If you're applying for a graduate program, you will need to submit these materials.
