Information on work study positions is posted daily (typically early in the morning). If you are interested in arranging an interview or discussing other aspects of the program, please come to the Human Resources Office during our walk-in hours.  Positions open and close throughout the semester, so please be sure to check here frequently. 

Students will be referred for interviews on a first come first served basis.  Positions may close during the course of the day.

Summer 2012 POSITIONS

There are a number of open work-study positions available. To discuss open positions, please come to the Human Resource Office during walk-in hours. Walk-in hours are Monday - Thursday 9:30-11:30 and 1:30-3:30.

Position Title: Student Auditor (1 position - Note that work study is not required but is preferred)

Department: Internal Audit

Requirements: Full-time student status; Upperclassman status in Accounting, Finance, or other related Business major preferred.

Hours: approximately 35 hours per week.

Description: The Office of Internal Audit is seeking Accounting, Finance, and other Business majors for a Student Auditor position which will be approximately 35 hours per week during the Summer and 13 hours per week Academic Year. The Student Auditor will be assigned to an Internal Audit Manager or Director and will work on various audits and projects that are part of the normal and daily activities of the University's Internal Audit department. The Student Auditor will be exposed to some or all of the following:
1. COSO ERM Framework
2. COBIT Framework
3. Computer Aided Auditing Techniques
4. Financial Auditing (Internal and External)
5. Information Technology Auditing
6. Operational Auditing
7. Internal Control Auditing
8. The Professional Practices Requirements of the Institute of Internal Auditors
9. Governance, Risk and Compliance Frameworks and Methodologies
10. Frameworks for Internal Control Environments
11. Professional Ethics Requirements and Practices
During the normal school year, Student Auditors will be given the opportunity to earn academic credit through Internships and will also be compensated for time worked. During the summer months, students will only be compensated for time worked and no academic credits will be available. The number of academic credits that can be earned and the criteria for awarding academic credit will be determined by the Dean of the School of Business. Students will compete for positions and continued participation from one time frame to the next (Summer, Fall, Spring) will be dependent on the Student's performance. 
 

Qualifications: Upperclassman status in Accounting, Finance, or other Business major; High standards of professionalism, responsibility, and accuracy; Proficiency using personal computer and related software; Ability to work approximately 35 hours per week during Summer and 13 hours per week during Academic Year.

Position Title: Project Assistant for Center for Green Industries and Sustainable Business Growth  

Department: Small Business Development Center

Requirements: Full-time student status; College Work-Study Award is NOT required.

Hours: 30-35 hours/week summer --- 20 hours/week fall/spring.

Description: The part time position is responsible for:

1. Providing primary and secondary industry and client research through the use of current technologies available through Internet, business databases, and other systems; reviewing sources of information including those found in libraries, trade associations, government and economic entities; and through phone interviews;

2. Recruiting clients through marketing of the programs through design of flyers, phone campaigns, etc

3. Initiating and maintaining social media campaign and keeping website information updated

4. Assisting with writing reports to funding agencies

5. Coordinating with other university departments working on the project


Other duties may include regular office duties such as copy work, word processing, running errands on or off campus, seminar mailings, or other projects as requested

Qualifications: Excellent facility with Microsoft computer programs; preferred facility with multi-media tools. Graduate student preferred with a QPA of 3.0 or above; excellent spoken and written communication and telephone skills; familiarity with business sources and research methodologies. Candidate must be a highly motivated self starter, energetic, able to do work under pressure and prioritize work and be able to perform work under minimal supervision.
