Applying to an Undergraduate Program

The Office of International Programs receives and reviews hundreds of international undergraduate applications every year. We try to make the application process as straight-forward as possible but if you have questions about any aspect of the process, please contact us.

What does Duquesne require for admission?

Deadlines

The majority of majors work on a rolling admission basis which means there is no deadline.

However, there is an application deadline of December 1 for Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, Physician’s Assistant, and Forensics.

What do I need to submit?

To be considered for admission you must have graduated from a secondary school recognized as an acceptable equivalent to a U.S. high school and you must demonstrate a record of acceptable academic success.

The following documents are required:

  1. International Student Application

  2. Original or attested copies of official academic records from at least the last four years of education. Credentials should be submitted in the native language with certified English translations and sent directly from the school and/or university. Photocopies are not considered official.

  3. Mandatory Information Form (click for PDF)

  4. At least one letter of recommendation

  5. A personal essay of at least 300 words which answers the following questions and includes any examples of research, shadowing or volunteering experiences:
    - What is unique about you? 
    - Why have you chosen this major?
    - How will Duquesne help you to achieve your academic, personal and professional goals?


  6. Application fee of USD $50.
  7. Immigration Documents: If you are accepted to Duquesne, you will need to provide financial verification documents. We recommend that, if possible, you send these together with your academic application to speed up the process.
Transfer applicants are required to submit supplementary documents.
