Comfortable Accommodations

Participants are housed in the Jiming Express Inn, a new facility located within walking distance of the lecture hall at CUPL. The hotel is equipped with western-style bathrooms, air conditioning, carpeting, and in-room high-speed internet. It is centrally located leading to all points of interest in Beijing.
A room is $16.00 per day for double occupancy. We will arrange a roommate for you largely based on the time of your arrival. If you arrive early and leave late, we cannot ensure that we can arrange a roommate for you before or after the duration of the program. You should be prepared to pay for the single occupancy rate of $32.00 per day for the extra days. We will try to arrange a roommate for you based on your preference if we can. A Housing Preference Questionnaire will be sent to you after you have enrolled in the program.
You may eat at the hotel for approximately $18.00 a day (breakfast is included in the hotel cost). Students have found that sampling Beijing cuisine in the excellent neighborhood restaurants costs less and provides an interesting alternative.

The exchange rate between the Chinese currency RMB and the U.S. Dollar is approximately U.S. $1.00 = RMB 6.31 Yuans . You may also access the Universal Currency Converter web site for additional information on currency rates.
Chinese currency is now available in the U.S. banks and at the international airports including the Beijing International Airport. It is also available at the hotel. U.S. Traveler's checks are acceptable in China. Visa, Master Card and American Express are acceptable in major hotels and big department stores.
The hotel accepts cash, traveler's checks and credit cards for payment.
