Criminal Advocacy Clinic

This Criminal Advocacy Clinic provides students with an opportunity to assist in the representation of criminal defendants with the Allegheny County Office of Conflicts Counsel.

Typical assignments include client interviews, jail visits, case planning, preparation of pleadings and representation of clients at preliminary hearings. Students are expected to demonstrate a strong aptitude for criminal law and a commitment to public service.

Year Long Course

Credits: (3 ACADEMIC CREDITS, 3 NON-TRADITIONAL CREDITS), 6 crs.

Enrollment: 8 Students

Clinic Hours to Be Completed: 280 Hours (Minimum of 10 Hours per Week)

Prerequisite: Evidence

Class Meeting Time: Wednesday 4:00 p.m. – 5:40 p.m.
