Q: Who can use the Curriculum Center?
A: Contrary to the common myth that we are an Education major-only room, The Curriculum Center is open to all students, faculty, and alumni of Duquesne University.
Q: What are the hours of the Curriculum Center?
A: The Curriculum Center is always open during regular Gumberg Library hours. However, it is staffed during the following times: Mondays through Thursdays - 9AM to 11PM, Fridays - 9AM to 5PM, Saturdays 10AM to 6PM, and Sundays 11AM to 11PM.
Q: Is there ever a time that the Curriculum Center is unavailable?
A: Yes; every Monday from 9AM-12PM & 1PM-4PM and Friday 9AM-12PM, there is a class held. Periodically, additional classes are held in the evening. During classes, Ellison machines and computers are not available for use. To grab a book, enter the room through one of the back doors.
Q: Is the Curriculum Center a Quiet Study Area?
A: The Curriculum Center is not a Quiet Study Area; however the usage of cell phones is not permitted.
Q: Is the room available to reserve for a class or group meeting?

Q: Can anyone use the Ellison machines and dies?
A: Yes! But remember...bring your own construction paper!
Q: What else is there other than Ellison machines?
A: We have a huge selection of picture books, YA chapter books, teacher guides and resources, textbooks, educational software & DVDs, audio CDs, books on disc, hand and stage puppets, Praxis study guides, and PDE & content standards. Also, we have five computers (one connected to a projection system and SMARTBoard), all of which are equipped with SMARTNotebook, Boardmaker, and Writing with Symbols.

A: Checkout policies for Curriculum Center Collection items are as follows:
- Big Books (Folio), Picture Books, Chapter Books, Praxis Materials, & Stacks
UNDERGRADUATE -- 4 weeks / 1 renewal
GRADUATE -- 8 weeks / 2 renewals - A/V Materials, Kits, Puppets and Manipulatives
UNDERGRADUATE -- 1 week / 1 renewal
GRADUATE -- 1 week / 1 renewal - BOOK LIMITS: UNDERGRADUATE -- 25 items; GRADUATE -- 50 items
