Finding your Textbooks
It's the beginning of the semester, and you need to find your textbooks fast! Here are Gumberg Library's tips for locating your books.
Barnes and Noble @ Duquesne University
Barnes and Noble is located on the street level of the Power Center, and the textbook area is found on the lower level of the bookstore. The bookstore website allows you to customize a list of books for your courses, and also provides you with pricing information and availability. You can then purchase the books online or save your list for later.
1. Go to http://duquesne.bncollege.com.
2. In the drop-down box menu, enter the semester, department, course, and section of your classes.

3. You can then view a list of books for all your classes.

Textbooks at Gumberg Library
Gumberg Library does not carry a large selection of textbooks, and many that the library does own are previous editions. However, if your textbook is backordered or sold out at the bookstore, you may be able to find a copy at the library.
DuCat
To search Gumberg Library catalog for your textbooks, use the Guided Search feature. Because textbooks often have common titles, e.g. Developmental Psychology, search by Title AND Author or ISBN (found on the barcode on the back cover of the textbook).

E-ZBorrow & ILLiad
You may be able to request your textbooks from another library. We recommend this only as a temporary solution for a textbook that you plan to purchase soon, as you will not be able to keep a book from another institution for the entire semester. Gumberg Library has limited success in obtaining textbooks from other institutions. You will be notified if your request cannot be filled.
1. Choose “E-ZBorrow” from on the Gumberg Library homepage.

2. Enter your 16-digit DU ID number.
3. Search for the book by Title, Author, or ISBN.
4. If none of the libraries participating in E-ZBorrow have your book, you can try ILLiad. Choose “ILLiad” on the Gumberg Library homepage.

5. Log in, or click New Users to create an ILLiad account.
6. Place a request for a book. Include as much information as possible, including Title, Author, ISBN, and Edition.
