Text a Librarian
Availability
Text a Librarian is staffed all hours that the Reference Desk is open. Spring Semester reference hours: Mon-Thurs, 8 am - 10 pm; Fri, 8 am - 6 pm; Sat, 10 am - 6 pm; Sun, 11 am -7 pm. We will try to answer questions within two hours. Questions received after hours will be answered when coverage resumes the next day.
When to use
The service is good for asking quick, simple questions that can be answered in short responses (160 characters or less). More involved questions that require longer responses should be directed to one of the other services (telephone, email or Ask Here PA) found on the Ask A Librarian web page.
Staff will not answer questions about your Library Account through text messaging. Please contact the Circulation Desk at (412) 396-6130.
How to use
Send your text to 66746 and start the body of the text with keyword askduq, then a space, followed by your question.
Cost
While there is no charge for the Text a Librarian service, cell phone charges may apply for each text message sent or received, depending on your cell phone plan.
