Instructional Services & Information Literacy

One of the primary ways Gumberg Library fulfills its mission is through its support of Duquesne's information literacy efforts.

The library's instruction programs are designed to meet the expectations of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

They follow the standards endorsed by the Association of College and Research Libraries for information literacy competency.

Duquesne's Core Curriculum includes information literacy among the its general goals and student leaning outcomes. Students are required to take one credit of information literacy instruction in an approved Core course.

The Provost has charged a steering committee to serve as a forum for development of additional initiatives for information literacy across the curriculum.
