Please join us for a presentation by Fishes and Loaves Cooperative Ministries which serves the people of Hazelwood and surrounding communities. Fishes and Loaves Cooperative Ministries is a buying Club which brings wholesome food into the community at reasonable prices.
The club started in 2011 with the goal of helping people who find it difficult to get to a grocery store. Hazelwood is classified as a Food Desert because there are no grocery stores. Three churches (St. Stephen, Hazelwood Christian and Hazelwood Presbyterian) along with the Hazelwood Initiative Community Organization have been working together.
As part of the luncheon we will pack bags with the groceries to make a healthy soup option, Unstuffed Pepper Soup. The same soup Parkhurst will serve at our luncheon.
The food items will be provided by Spiritan Campus Ministry, but in the past, many of you have asked about donating non-perishable food items. If you would like to donate a box of pasta noodles and/or pasta sauce, our St. Vincent de Paul Society, who feed the homeless, would put your donations to good use.
