Sigma Alpha Epsilon

Sigma Alpha Epsilon was founded on March 9, 1856, at Alabama University. It is one of the oldest and largest fraternities in the country with 214 active chapters and over 331,000 initiated brothers. The Pennsylvania Xi chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon was founded October 19, 1996, after it had merged with and taken over Zeta Beta Tau on campus.

The brothers of Sigma Alpha Epsilon work with the Children's Miracle Network for their philanthropy. They raise money for their philanthropy by hosting the Shot in the Dark charity event to raise awareness about underage drinking and the effects it has on the body. Sigma Alpha Epsilon's creed is "The True Gentleman", which points out precepts and guidelines for which every young male college student, especially initiated brothers, should model their life after.
