Connect with Students
Are you looking for ways to reach out and increase your visibility on campus and with students? In addition to attending our job fairs, participating in the On-Campus Recruiting program and posting jobs and internships on a regular basis, here are some suggestions of ways to connect with our students.
Host an Information Session
Come to campus and give an overview on your company and the opportunities available. These are usually best scheduled for late afternoon or early evening. You can easily request a date through DuqCareerLink, right from your home page.
Connect with Student Organizations
Student organizations are continually looking for employer involvement in their programming. There are more than 200 student organizations on campus. Contact us if you need help identifying the student organizations that best fit your recruiting needs.
Volunteer for our student programming opportunities
We schedule regular workshops for students to assist them with resume writing and interviewing techniques and are always looking for employer volunteers. Additionally we offer a ResuMANIA program twice a year and other opportunities, such as Career Panels. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 412.396.6644.
Participate in a Mock Interview Day
Several times throughout the year we offer the opportunity for students to schedule a 45-minute appointment with a professional recruiter or a hiring manager. The purpose is for the students to gain insight on what to expect on a typical interview and/or to practice their interviewing skills. Full-day or half-day opportunities are available.
Host a Career Discovery Day
Provide a small group of 5-15 students, from various majors and interests, the opportunity to visit your workpace, learn about your company, and meet employees at diverse levels within your organization. This half-day Career Discovery Day experience will be tailored to your company.
Sponsor a Recruiter in Residence Day
This is an excellent way to build your brand on campus, while offering career advice and tips to students. We can customize the day (or half-day) based on the needs of the employer to allow for a combination of walk-in and/or pre-scheduled appointments.
