Meet the Staff

Nicole FeldhuesNicole Feldhues


Nicole Feldhues joined Duquesne University as Director of Center for Career Development in July of 2008. Serving in this role, Nicole oversees the coordination of career development, programs, job search events, and employer relations for the students, faculty, and alumni of Duquesne University. She has more than 22 years of experience working in career services and student development in a higher education setting. She spent the majority of those years at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana where she held various positions in the Career Center, including Assistant Director and Business Fellows Project Manager. Prior to Ball State, Nicole served as an Educational Leadership Consultant for Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity.

Ms. Feldhues is an experienced speaker on topics related to career development, job-search planning, and workplace professionalism and makes educational presentations to both university classes and professional organizations.

She currently serves on the Executive Board of the Western Pennsylvania Career Services Association and the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Association of Colleges and Employers. She is a member of NACE - the National Association of College and Employers and EACE - the Eastern Association of Colleges and Employers. Nicole also actively participates on the Board of Directors of the Pittsburgh Airport Area Chamber of Commerce where she serves as Education and Workforce Development Chairperson.

Nicole earned a Master of Science in Student Affairs Administration from Ball State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Education from Washington University in St. Louis. A native of Pittsburgh, Nicole has enjoyed living and working in her hometown again. She resides in Moon Township with her husband, Bill, and their three children, Hannah, Sophie, and Will.

Kim PierceKim Pierce

On-Campus Recruiting Coordinator

Kim has been a member of the Center for Career Development team at Duquesne University for over 25 years. She manages the On Campus Interview Program and develops and maintains relationships with our employer partners. Kim also oversees and administers the Post Graduate Outcomes Survey.

Linda LoewerLinda Loewer

Internship Coordinator

 Linda assists students in finding internships in the field of their interests and preparing them for their internship search. She also oversees the Internship Program, ensuring that internships are credit worthy. In addition, Linda works with employers to develop their internship programs that benefit both the student and the company. She is also the liaison to the Office of International Programs, Freshman Development, and Disability Services. Linda is a member of the National Society of Experiential Education.

Linda has worked in the Center for Career Development at Duquesne University since 2000.

Coralyn McCauleyCoralyn McCauley

Assistant Director/Career Consultant, McAnulty College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts

Coralyn coordinates programs and services for students, alumni, and faculty in the College and Graduate School of Liberal Arts. She serves as liaison to the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Honors College, and Office of Community Engagement. She provides walk-in career counseling at College Hall and at the Center for Career Development for all students. In addition, she leads the Center's marketing team to promote the department's programs and services and also presents educational programs.

Coralyn has worked at Duquesne University since 2007. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Michigan State University and a Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of Western Australia.

Deb SafferDebra Saffer

Assistant Director/ Career Consultant, Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences, School of Pharmacy, Rangos School of Health Science, School of Nursing, and Biomedical Engineering Program

Debra coordinates programs and services for students, alumni, and faculty in the Sciences, Health Care, and Engineering. She serves as liaison with Commuter Affairs and the Office of Residence Life. Debra presents educational programs and meets individually with students and alumni.

Debra is a National Certified Counselor (NCC), a Licensed Professional Counselor in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (LPC), and is a designated Master Career Counselor by the National Career Development Association. Having joined the staff in 2008, she has over 15 years' experience in the career counseling field.

Debra earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication and a Master of Education in College Counseling from the University of Delaware. She is a member of the National Career Development Association and has served on NCDA's Professional Standards Committee.

Julie Julie Brand

Administrative Assistant

Julie joined the staff in August 2017. She handles all of the administrative needs of the office including coordinating. She coordinates the ordering, budgeting, and scheduling. Julie also manages the office student aides and serves as a member of the Center's marketing team.

Julie earned a Bachelor of Science in Health Policy and Administration from Penn State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh.

Michael Jones, Associate Director, Alumni Career NetworkMichael Jones

Associate Director, Alumni Career Networks

Michael currently serves as the Associate Director for Alumni Career Networks for the Office of Alumni Engagement & the Center for Career Development. He joined Duquesne University in July 2017 after serving as the Assistant Director of Alumnae/i Outreach and Partnerships at Vassar College. Michael's role is to strategically develop opportunities to connect or re-engage alumni to the campus by serving as a resource to current students. Although he does not work directly with students, he sole reason for wanting to work in higher education is to help students connect the dots to prepare them for success following graduation. Michael has also worked at Edinboro University and Robert Morris University, both in diversity recruitment on the admissions teams. For two years, he taught psychology as an Adjunct Instructor at Penn State University Greater Allegheny and wants to get involved in the classroom again.

Michael earned his Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy from Seton Hill University and his Master's in Social Work from California University of Pennsylvania. Although he is not an alumnus of Duquesne University yet, his intentions are to start a doctorate program at Duquesne University in Fall of 2019. Michael has also presented at local, state, and national conferences on a variety of topics related to the intersection of social media and career & professional development. One of his most proud presentations was title Career Challenged Day; presented with a team of colleagues from Penn State; The Eberly campus at the 2012 Career Convergence Conference in Madison, WI. This presentation earned him his 1st national presentation award from a conference.

Outside of work, Michael finds time to enjoy his love for music by singing and playing guitar or piano. He is also into fashion and cars and spends time thinking how to incorporate those interest into his career. One of his goals is to be a TV show extra or a small role in Law and Order or Empire.

Jen Liedl

Events and Communication Specialist

Jen coordinates events and communication efforts for Career Services including serving as the job fair coordinator. She coordinates communication efforts with students, alumni, staff, and employers through newsletters, social media, and other digital and print content.

Jen is the newest member of the Career Development team. She joined the staff in February 2018, transitioning from working at Pittsburgh Magazine as the Marketing Assistant. Proud to be a "Double Duke", Jen received both her Bachelor of Arts in Digital Media Arts (2014) and Master of Science in Media Arts and Technology (2016) from Duquesne University.
