The Career Services Center offers a number of resources to faculty and instructors for use in their courses. We are happy to provide these resources and assistance to instructors.
To better understand how our facilities and services can work into your course requirements, we offer tours of our office, presentations at department meetings, and individual appointments. By having this information, you can also submit more appropriate referrals to Career Services.
Many students seek career guidance and assistance from faculty and advisors. Through written publications and individual discussions, we can partner together to assist Duquesne student achieve their career goals..
Career Services in the Classroom
We will be happy to help you incorporate career information into your curriculum. If you would like to refer students to the Career Services Center as part of your course, please contact us first. A copy of your syllabus and instructions pertaining to career-related assignments will help our staff become aware of any requirements and due dates, and will prepare us to respond to students' questions.
We are more than happy to be guest speakers in your class, offering instruction on career planning and job search topics. Please contact the Career Services Center to schedule such presentations as early in the semester as possible.
Mock interviews are available to students who would like to practice their interview techniques. Our Mock Interview program provides students with company recruiters to interview then review student interviews. Students may also practice interviewing with the Career Services career counselors.
Career Services houses a Career Resource Library where students can research information on careers, internships, majors and more. All books are catalogued through Gumberg Library. The Career Resource Library is a reading room only, however we have have many booklets and handouts you and students are welcome to take. It is open during normal office hours, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m.
