Family Service Project

LOCATION: Night Spot, 1st Floor Duquesne Union

1:00-3:00 p.m.

Please join the Center for Student Involvement and Duquesne University Volunteers (DUV) in the Nite Spot as we enable you to participate in a sampling of our student programming model which helps various charities in the Pittsburgh community. During this program, you will have the ability to participate in the projects we do each month and learn more about several organizations with which DUV works closely. All you need bring with you is enthusiasm, energy, and an interest to learn more about how our students live our mission.

Housing Seminar: To Live on or Off Campus (for rising Juniors and above)

LOCATION: Towers Multi-Purpose Room

1:00 p.m.: To Live On or Off Campus (for rising Juniors and above)

Attend a presentation by Residence Life and Commuter Affairs about benefits and challenges for living on and off campus

Living Learning Center Open Houses

2:00-3:00 p.m.: Living Learning Center Open Houses - Tour Guides will be available in the lobbies of the following locations

Towers - Houses students of all class levels
Vickroy - Suite style housing for sophomore students and above
Des Places - Suite style housing for junior students and above
Brottier Hall - Apartment style housing for junior students and above

Commuter Center Open House

LOCATION: Communter Center Lounge, 1st Floor Duquesne Union

2:00-3:00 p.m.

Tour Duquesne's newly renovated Commuter Center, an entire area dedicated to commuting students featuring the Office of Commuter Affairs, the Commuter Lounge, Computer Lab, Commuter Council Office and Quiet Study Room.

Honors College Open House

Freshman Development & Special Student Services Open House

LOCATION: 309 Duquesne Union

2:00-4:00 p.m.

This is the office where the Freshman year experience is supported. We also work with students who require classroom accommodations. Come see who we are and ask any questions you might have about what we do and how we strive to make every student's college experience exceptional.

Study Abroad Open House

LOCATION: Africa Room

1:00-3:00 p.m.

The Value of Study Abroad in an Undergraduate Education: No matter the school or major, this can be a part of everyone's undergraduate years. What parents can do to be informed and supportive.

Recreation Open House

LOCATION: 2nd Floor Power Center

1:00-2:00 p.m.

Studies show that a healthy body leads to academic success. At the Power Center, fitness and recreation are our passions. Please stop by the state of the art Power Center and explore the amenities and programming offered to our student body.

Health Service Open House

LOCATION: 2nd Floor Union

2:30-4:00 p.m.

Come visit our Health Service office and meet with the Director! Come equipped with any and all questions you may have about services we provide for our students or just take a look around our center.

Learning Skills Center

LOCATION: Ground Floor Adminstration Building

1:30-3:00 p.m.

The Michael P. Weber Learning Skills Center, located in the lower level of the Administration Building, is the office responsible for providing tutorial assistance to Duquesne students. We have free, paid, trained, supervisied tutors for nearly every undergraduate course offered at the University. To received tutorial assistance, students simply need to come to in and sign up for services. The LSC is open Monday-Friday 8:30 am to 8:00 pm. Tutoring can take place in our office or at any location designated by the tutor and the tutee. Our phone number is 412-396-6661. Karishma Moazzam, our Assistant Tutorial Coordinator, will be available to answer your questions. She can be reached at ats@duq.edu daily.
