When can I move in to my room?
Move-In for all new students will be Tuesday, August 16, 2016.
Can I move into my room before August 16?
No, the Office of Residence Life is preparing rooms in the Living Learning Centers until immediately before Move-In begins. Unfortunately, they cannot accommodate any exceptions to the move-in schedule.
How will I get all of my belongings from my car to my room?
Once you arrive on campus, a whole staff of Orientation team leaders will be waiting with carts to help to transport all of your items to your room. To make the move more efficient, please be sure to label your items with your room number.
Do I have to come to Orientation?
All new students, freshman and transfer, are expected to attend Orientation from August 17-21, 2016. Whether in attendance or not, all students are charged an Orientation Fee, which is added into your tuition bill. You do not need to submit a check to the Orientation Office for this fee. Plus, with all of the fun and exciting events planned, who really wants to miss out on the Orientation Program?
Is there Orientation for my parents?
Yes, there are several Orientation programs designed specifically for parents.
When and where do I get my DU Card?
You can get your ID picture taken at the summer FAST program. If they do not attend that program, the DU Card Center will be open normal business hours during the week of Orientation so that you can get your ID picture taken.
Is it normal to feel nervous about coming to college?
Yes! Trust us, we have all been there and felt the same apprehension that you might be feeling now. Don't worry too much though! Once you get here, you'll have a whole staff of over 200 upperclassmen who are there to make your transition easy. They will show you around, answer your questions, and especially help you to feel at home here on Duquesne's Campus.
