Lenore Resick, Ph.D.
“In this role, I will strive to continue community outreach through the Nurse-Managed Wellness Center, to work with communities to improve the health and wellness of vulnerable older adults living in Pittsburgh neighborhoods, and to explore new models of health care delivery.
“I plan to continue to work closely with community partners to mentor students in the delivery of culturally competent health care and community-focused scholarship and service that meets the needs identified by the community.”
The Noble J. Dick Endowed Chair in Community Outreach recognizes a faculty member who demonstrates—through teaching, research and service—exceptional achievement in community outreach.
Resick, who joined the nursing school in 1994, is director of the Nurse-Managed Wellness Center and serves as coordinator for the MSN Family Nurse Practitioner Program. Her areas of expertise include physical assessment for advanced practice nursing, transcultural/international nursing and online teaching/learning. Resick was inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners last year and also received the 2007 Distinguished Nurse Award from the Pennsylvania State Nurses Association.
