Faculty Scholars

Teaching

Members of the mathematics faculty have earned doctorates from leading institutions, including Brown, Carnegie Mellon and Duke. They are also outstanding teachers and have earned numerous awards for teaching excellence.

The top priority at Duquesne is teaching, as our faculty creates a supportive learning environment where all students can achieve their best.

Our low student-teacher ratio provides many opportunities for interaction with professors, on research projects and in a one-on-one mentoring program.

Research

Research is an important part of what makes Duquesne a top-ranked university and an essential feature of the mathematics program.

Some mathematics faculty members have received significant research grant funding from the National Science Foundation. Various members of our faculty research image processing; modeling (with applications in electromagnetics, oceanography and epidemiology); computational learning theory; and combinatorics.

See the departmental list of faculty members for details on individual research interests.
