Choral Ensembles

Conducted by Christine Jordanoff, this highly select ensemble consists of 28 of the finest singers on the campus. The singers are dedicated to the study and performance of choral music at the highest level. They sing a challenging body of repertoire, from Renaissance masses and motets to opera choruses, jazz, popular standards, folk and contemporary art music. The Voices are equally adept at singing a cappella as well as with piano, jazz ensemble or orchestral instruments. They perform a variety of concerts throughout the region and statewide, and will represent Duquesne this fall on a performing tour of Eastern Europe which includes concerts in Vienna, Prague, and Budapest.

Conducted bt Robert Kurth, the Pappert Men's Chorale is comprised of approximately 40 men, not only from within the music school, but from other disciplines and degree programs throughout the University. Their repertoire ranges from early Gregorian Chant and Renaissance motets through modern popular music and jazz standards. They will also combine with the Women's Chorale to perform larger choral works from time to time. Membership is determined by placement auditions prior to each semester.
