2012 Guitar and Bass Workshop

Guitar & Bass

Started in 1986 by Joe Negri, Bill Purse, Mark Koch, Tom Kikta, John Maione and Jim Farquar, the Guitar and Bass Workshop aims to help students become more familiar with the guitar programs at Duquesne University. The workshop also provides an opportunity for any guitar enthusiast to learn more through working with guitar department faculty and famous guitar icons.

Thirty percent of the students who are admitted to the University guitar program are already familiar with the department and its faculty because of their participation in this workshop.

Duquesne's Guitar and Bass Workshop is one of America's leading seminars for guitar and bassists of all ages. Now in its 26th year, this workshop provides an outstanding resource for musicians looking to improve their knowledge, skills and gain insights associated with the serious study of guitar and bass at all levels. Special guests include; Joe Negri, ensemble in residence "Catch 22" and the Music School's outstanding guitar and bass faculty. In addition, special national guests (check website for updates) and free guitars and music product will be raffled to winning participants.

The Guitar & Bass Workshop is currently being restructured and updated and will return in Summer 2013.
