Duquesne Welcomes Class of 2014 for Move-In/Orientation
Duquesne’s class of 2014 will move into campus residence halls in preparation for the University’s annual Orientation program and the start of a new school year. The incoming class of more than 1,430 freshmen—which represent more than 30 states and 15 countries—is one of the best academically prepared and most ethnically diverse.
When: Freshman Move-In, Tuesday, Aug. 17, from 12 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m.
Where: Duquesne University, 600 Forbes Ave., Pittsburgh
The award-winning, student-run Orientation program at Duquesne features numerous programs, events and activities for students, parents and families. This year’s highlights include:
- Ice Cream Social, Tuesday, Aug. 17, 9 to 10 p.m., Assumption Commons
- Matriculation ceremony, Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2:45 to 4 p.m., A.J. Palumbo Center: all freshmen and their families attend as the new students are officially welcomed as Duquesne undergraduates
- World’s Largest Dodgeball Game, Friday, Aug. 20, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Rooney Field: freshmen will attempt to break the Guinness Book of World Records for the world’s largest dodgeball game
Duquesne students begin the 2010-11 academic year on Monday, Aug. 23.
