It’s Not the Impossible Dream: Building a Better U.S. Health Care System
Health care continues to be among the most critical social and economic issues facing Americans. Providing care for the uninsured and elderly, ensuring safety and privacy, and promoting quality and affordability are among key policy priorities.
Mary R. Grealy, president of the Healthcare Leadership Council (HLC), will present "It's Not the Impossible Dream: Building a Better U.S. Health Care System" as keynote speaker at the 2005 Downtown Alumni Luncheon on Friday, April 8 at the Pittsburgh Hilton Grand Ballroom. The public is invited to attend.
Grealy provides policy expertise and guides health care issues at the highest federal levels and regularly testifies in front of Congress. For the last two years, she has been ranked by Modern Healthcare magazine as one of the 100 Most Powerful People in Healthcare.
The HLC, headquartered in Washington, D.C., is the only health policy advocacy group that represents all sectors of the healthcare industry. As its president, Grealy heads a coalition of chief executives of the country’s leading health care companies and organizations.
Prior to her HLC appointment, Grealy served as chief Washington counsel for the American Hospital Association and as chief operating officer and executive counsel for the Federation of American Health Systems. In all of her capacities, Grealy has worked extensively with all branches of the federal government. Grealy is a 1978 graduate of the Duquesne University School of Law.
