Nearly 150 to Graduate at SLPA Commencement Ceremony
Nearly 150 adult students will participate in the Duquesne University School of Leadership and Professional Advancement’s (SLPA) commencement ceremony. Yvonne R. Davis, president and chief executive officer of DAVIS Communications will deliver the commencement address.
Approximately 70 members of this graduating class earned their degrees entirely online. The online students represent a number of states, including California, Virginia, Texas, Florida, Montana and Illinois. Graduates and families not traveling to Duquesne for graduation will be able to view the ceremony live via the Internet.
An alumna of SLPA, Davis is an expert in communication theory and application, coaching and executive training. She is an expert lecturer on American presidential politics, the electoral process, media and crisis communications and other topics, and is a political analyst for radio and television. She travels to help promote American diplomacy for the U.S. Department of State. Davis also has served as a surrogate spokesperson for the White House.
In addition, Davis is a freelance writer for the travel magazine Odyssey Couleur, and she has been featured in publications including The New York Times, Black Enterprise Magazine and Hartford Magazine.
