Professionals, Students to Gather for Discussions, Networking, Gala Nov. 1-3
The Duquesne University A.J. Palumbo School of Business is bringing this year’s annual Sport Marketing Conference, SMA 5, to Pittsburgh from Nov. 1- 3. Events for the fifth annual conference include industry and academic presentations, panel discussions and networking opportunities. On Nov. 3, SMA 5 offers a Student Career Day in the Duquesne Ballroom featuring various speakers and representatives from professional sports, media outlets and retail markets.
A gala dinner at the Heinz History Center and Sports Museum concludes the conference. Guest speaker will be World Series hero and Pittsburgh Pirates broadcaster Steve Blass.
Conference proceedings are headquartered at the Renaissance Hotel. Attendees will find themselves surrounded by Pittsburgh sports fame, catching glimpses of Roberto Clemente Bridge, Heinz Field and PNC Park. Additional conference venues include Heinz Field, Duquesne’s campus and the history center.
A goal of the association is to integrate student involvement in the sport marketing industry. Student Career Day is dedicated to undergraduate and graduate networking opportunities with top companies in the sporting industry, academic addresses and presentations in the annual student research competition.
Duquesne is honored to host this event, uniting students with prominent industry professionals and academics in the sport marketing field. In addition to a vibrant undergraduate sports marketing program, Duquesne features an online master’s degree in sports leadership, enabling sports marketing professionals to enhance their leadership skills while continuing to work for organizations across the U.S.
