‘Survivor Lap’ Scheduled at DU Relay for Life
Duquesne University will celebrate cancer survivors’ strength and courage with a ‘Survivor Lap’ at its Relay for Life. Survivors, friends and family are encouraged to participate.
The American Cancer Society Relay for Life provides the chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost and continue to fight against the disease. Each team is asked to have a representative in the relay at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps, relays are overnight, with events up to 24 hours in length.
When: 4 p.m., Saturday, April 16, to 6 a.m., Sunday, April 17
Where: Academic Walk, Duquesne University, 600 Forbes Ave., Pittsburgh
Information: Registration and donations can be made by visiting www.relayforlife.org. Luminaria to celebrate cancer survivors and victims are available through the website. Survivors can also register as virtual survivors if they cannot attend the event but would like to be honored.
