Third Annual Holy Spirit Lecture Slated at Duquesne University
The Right Rev. Bishop Kallistos Ware,, Auxiliary Bishop of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain, will deliver the keynote address at The Spirit in the New Millennium: The Duquesne University 3rd Annual Holy Spirit Lecture and Colloquium.
Ware will address The Holy Spirit in the Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom during his lecture, which is free and open to the public. A reception will immediately follow.
During the private colloquium portion of the event, Ware will join eight scholars from Duquesne and other academic institutions from across the nation to further explore the topic of his lecture.
Ware is best known for his classic study, The Orthodox Church, and has published widely on Eastern Orthodox theology, spirituality and history. He recently retired after serving for 35 years as a lecturer in Eastern Orthodox studies at Oxford University, and is one of the translators of the five-volume anthology of spiritual writings known as the Philokalia.
