Financial aid packages are awarded to students based upon family need, and are therefore called “need-based” awards. Duquesne University participates in all Federal and State grant and loan programs, which are administered through our Office of Financial Aid. To apply for financial aid, students/families must complete the FAFSA(Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The Office of Financial Aid awards a financial aid package for each student who applies and is eligible. Sixth-year students are designated “graduate students” to establish eligibility for continuing financial aid (which consists mostly of loan monies).
Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded to students with exceptional academic performance in high school, based upon grades and standardized test scores (SAT and/or ACT) and are therefore called “merit” awards. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions determines your qualifications during the admission process and awards a scholarship (if one is awarded) automatically. Many scholarships are available to students enrolled in the professional phase of the pharmacy program. These students are encouraged to attend a pharmacy scholarship seminar, presented annually by the Pharmacy Faculty Scholarship Committee.
