Research, Publications and Service

Dr. Hanna's research interests have centered on basic, recurring, social processes including evaluation, complaint, social deviation, crime and punishment. Most recently, he completed evaluation research on a program to identify, intervene and prevent law violations by at-risk youth and, with Doug Harper, has examined tailgating as a use of public space. Hanna's research efforts have led to publications in Addictive Behaviors and Qualitative Sociology and he has co-edited a book, Electric Utility Load Management: Marketing Strategies and Tactics (Rowman and Alleheld, 1985).

Statement

I want our students to understand how evaluation research can contribute to social and public policy. I encourage and will assist students who wish to evaluate various dimensions of social and public policies and practices.
