Dr. McIntyre was a member of Duquesne University's Theology Department from 1990-2001, when she joined the faculty of the Graduate Center for Social and Public Policy. Prior to coming to Duquesne, Dr. McIntyre taught high school religion and English, was an adjunct instructor at Marygrove College in Detroit, and taught in teacher education programs at York University in Toronto.

Research, Publications and Service
Dr. McIntyre’s research interests have centered on health care ethics, feminist theology, and ecological ethics. She is adjunct professor at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. She has served as Ethics Consultant to the U.S. Navy Surgeon General and represents the Navy on the Department of Defense Ethics Committee. She has published several articles, book chapters, written one book, and co-edited two books. She is Rector of the Church of the Holy Cross (Episcopal) in the Homewood section of Pittsburgh and a member of the Homewood Community Ministries. She is a retired Navy Captain (0-6) and teaches physicians, dentists, and other health care professionals monthly as part of the Advanced Medical Department Officer Course for senior medical personnel at the National Naval Medical Center to Bethesda, Maryland. She lectures widely for public and professional audiences.
