Transcultural Imperatives in Health Care - Dr. Rick Zoucha
The focus of this course is to assist the health care professional in understanding the process of cultural competence. The modules will begin with a clear and important understanding of the cultural self. Participants will explore who they are culturally as a mechanism to understand those who may be culturally different.
Immigrant Health Care - Sr. Rosemary Donley, PhD
The goal of this course is to increase the ability of nurses, health care providers, and managers to assess the health status of immigrant population, find informational websites about health and health systems in their countries of origin, plan programs of care, and ultimately enhance health care status and health care delivery to new immigrants in the United States. Using the case method, students will follow a patient and family from their point of origin to a typical community in the United States.
